Keynote title: “Pasifik Satelit Nusantara: Beyond opening the next horizon Border”
Abstract:
In the ever-changing global communications landscape, satellite technology is critical for connecting remote and disadvantaged areas. Aside from their primary purpose of communication, satellite systems stimulate economic growth, improve disaster response, and promote global inclusivity. As technology advances, the challenge for us all is to overcome current constraints and explore new vistas in satellite connectivity.
Since 1991, we have been a part of this journey, beginning with the management of the inclined Palapa B1 satellite, where we displayed our dedication to extending satellite lifespans and assuring continued operation. We continue with several satellite project like Palapa C1/C2 and M2A (multimedia asia). In 2000, We also launch Garuda-1 Satellite services (L-band MSS) with very high antenna in spacecraft for Handset type satellite remote terminal. We made a huge stride forward in 2019 with the launch of Nusantara-1 (hybrid C and HTS Ku/Ku), which expanded regional connections. Most recently, in 2023, we hit another milestone with the introduction of Satria-1 (Ka/Ka), which aims to extend access and prepare for future demands.
The presentation focused on the evolving satellite communication by PSN, where the diversification of satellite frequencies and the effort of PSN as GEO satellite operators are forming multiple satellite, who offer lower service costs and higher performance, in an effort to provide comprehensive services and retain existing customers through high throughput satellite services. Innovative methods to satellite design, deployment, and operation will be critical in meeting the complex challenges ahead.
